Two Days of Programs for Producers to Be Held in Greeneville

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. – The annual Northeast Tennessee Beef Expo is scheduled for October 7-8 at the Northeast Tennessee AgResearch and Education Center. Two days of programs will educate beef producers on the latest research and practices.

Beef Quality Assurance Certifications will be an option for producers that participate in both days. Pesticide applicator license points will be offered onsite as well.

Check-in for both days of the program will begin at 7:30 a.m. EDT. Programs will begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 2:30 p.m. The pre-registration cost is $20 per person to attend one day or $40 per person to attend both days. Lunch is included both days.

Producers who are interested in becoming Beef Quality Assurance certified will be able to do so at the expo. The cost for BQA certification is $50 in addition to the two-day expo fee. This fee must be paid on-site or during pre-registration.

The expo will include a tradeshow on the first day with lunch provided both days. The planned program topics include:

  • Toxic Plants
  • Forage Supplements
  • Stocking Density Profitability
  • Soil Corrections
  • Winter Feeding
  • Weaning
  • Sprayer GPS Demo
  • Genetics
  • Breeding Soundness Exams
  • Direct Marketing
  • Tennessee Agricultural Enhancement Program

For master beef producers, there will also be an educational session that will focus on cow-calf production and issues facing the beef industry.
