Third Video Released in a Series of Trainings on Native Grass Management
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Continuing with a series of Extension trainings, Patrick Keyser has just released the third in a sequence of native grass management videos, “Grazing Management 101.”
Keyser, professor in the Department of Forestry, Wildlife and Fisheries and director for the Center for Native Grasslands Management, launched the Native Grass College (NGC) in 2018. NGC is a free Extension resource that takes viewers into the field, giving them comprehensive information and detailed visuals on a variety of subjects related to managing native grass forages.
“Grazing Management 101” provides the tools and information needed to manage native grass pastures with different grazing techniques. “As long as growers realize that these are tall-growing grasses that respond to grazing differently, they are on the right track. The key is maintaining optimal canopy height,” says Keyser.
