New Online Ag Business Degree Available from the University of Tennessee

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The University of Tennessee Herbert College of Agriculture is now offering traditional and nontraditional students an opportunity to earn a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business totally online.

Professional opportunities for graduates include agricultural banking, finance, and sales; positions in agriculture or food industries; farm management; and various public agencies.

“This new online degree will help prepare the next generation of agricultural business leaders for the local and global agri-food industry,” said Chris Boyer, professor and head of the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics. This program offers a high-quality, industry-relevant education that is flexible and accessible. Boyer said students will have the opportunity to work with the same high-quality faculty available to on-campus students to gain business-oriented knowledge and skills.

Through a curriculum that builds a foundation of agricultural finance, marketing, management, sales, risk management, and operations with practical application, students will develop a versatile skill set highly valued across the agri-food sector. Successful students will be equipped with knowledge and confidence in agricultural business.

New students began studies at the opening of the 2026 fall semester, but admission is open and ongoing.  The deadline for submission for the Spring 2027 semester is December 15.
