KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Green Industry Field Day will be hosted by the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture and the Tennessee Nursery and Landscape Association. The event will take place on June 12, 2025, and participants will enjoy a variety of sessions that will take place beginning at the UT Gardens Friendship Pavilion and ending in the new Agriculture and Natural Resources (ANR) Building.
This annual field day offers participants a special opportunity to gain top-notch information and keep updated on a variety of topics from UTIA specialists to better your landscape, nursery or garden center. Three morning sessions and four classroom-style afternoon sessions will be offered for industry professionals with topics ranging from pest management to soil health and nursery automation. Amy Fulcher, Extension specialist and professor in the Department of Plant Sciences, says “We will have the ever-popular walking tours at the UT Gardens with our Extension specialists in turfgrass, entomology, and pathology at the 2025 Green Industry Field Day.” Assistant professor Becky Bowling, Extension specialist in the Department of Plant Sciences is excited about a new concept – a turfgrass industry panel representing sod production and turfgrass management. Alicia Rihn, assistant professor in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics, will kick off the afternoon with a “2025 State of the Green Industry” overview. New offerings include guided tours of the ANR Building green roof and UT Creamery ice cream, and a labor and automation session. Fulcher says, “We encourage everyone in the green industry to come out, but especially encourage alumni who took classes in Ellington to come experience our state of the art new building.”
Please register online at tnla.com. Registration closes June 5, 2025. Check-in will begin promptly at 8 a.m. EDT at the Friendship Pavilion. The first session will begin at 8:30 a.m. with each session lasting about one hour. The field day concludes at 4:30 p.m.

The UT Gardens, Knoxville, is located at 2518 Jacob Drive and the Agriculture and Natural Resources Building is located at 2431 Joe Johnson Drive on the UTIA campus.
