Webinar Series to Start April 2
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Farm operators and value-added agriculture entrepreneurs are invited to participate in a free “lunch and learn” webinar series starting in April.
Following the success of 2019’s “Seven Habits for Effective Farmers” webinar series, University of Tennessee Extension will begin a new series for 2020 titled, “Seven $ecrets of Effective Farmers.”
As the name implies, the series will focus on the financial aspects of farming and will include classes on the following topics: farm tax filing tips, business planning and record keeping, budgeting and marketing for value-added or niche products, risk management, labor management, and succession planning.
“All farmers want to succeed, and one path to success is creating a management plan that can help us reach our goals,” says Iris Cui, coordinator for the webinar series and UT Extension area farm management specialist.
Webinars will be held the first Thursday of each month from April through October from 11 a.m. until noon CDT. The sessions will be taught by UT Institute of Agriculture experts. Alan Galloway, UT Extension area farm management specialist, will kick off the first session on April 2. A full listing of topics and speakers is available on the UTIA Agricultural and Resource Economics MANAGE Program’s website, manage.tennessee.edu.
Interested producers may register online now at 7secrets.questionpro.com. Links to participate in the webinars will be emailed to registered participants prior to each session.
