Eight Week Literacy in Nature Initiative Features Four Books by Local Authors

University of Tennessee Extension has partnered with Great Smoky Mountains National Park to provide trailside activities that promote reading and literature in nature. The one-mile Cosby Nature Trail, near Cosby Campground, has been dubbed ‘Storybook Trail’ for the period beginning April 3 through May 30. During this time, four different books will be highlighted, each for two weeks. On the first Saturday of each book’s rotation, the author will be present at the trailhead to interact with visitors. Storybook Trail of the Smokies is funded by a grant secured by UT Extension through the Juanita H. Fasola Foundation Inc. Learn more from the National Park Service.
