Beef Cattle Producers Invited to Attend to Learn About Precision Livestock Management

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Precision Livestock Technologies: Beef & Forage Systems Field Day hosted by the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture will include topics of interest to beef cattle producers. The field day takes place Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at 8 a.m. CDT at the Middle Tennessee AgResearch and Education Center at Spring Hill. Experts from UT AgResearch and UT Extension will provide producers with information on the latest research and practices in beef production.

“We are excited to share research outcomes relevant to cow efficiency, bull development and computer vision technology focused on improving cattle health,” says Kevin Thompson, director of the Middle Tennessee AgResearch and Education Center at Spring Hill. “In addition, we will again offer the popular ‘hands on’ forage discussions designed to bring value to permanent pastures and seasonal gap filling forage planning.”

Pre-registration is available online at middletn.tennessee.edu/plt-beef-forage-systems-field-day-2023/. Cost to attend is $10 and UT students, faculty and staff can attend for free. Same day registration begins at 8 a.m. CDT, with the welcome presentation starting at 9 a.m. CDT. Lunch is provided and vendor tents are available to visit. Programs conclude at 1:45 p.m. CDT.
