Biennial event returns with presentations, field tours and more

MILAN, Tenn. – The 34th Milan No-Till Field Day is scheduled for Thursday, July 23, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the AgResearch and Education Center at Milan. One of the largest events in the nation dedicated to conservation tillage, this free field day is open to the public and will be held in person only with no online component.

Presentations will be offered throughout the day on topics related to no-till farming, including agronomic strategies, pesticide updates, cover crop practices, nutrient management and weed, insect and disease control. Attendees can also participate in guided tours of the AgResearch Center, including on-site research trials, as well as visit a trade show featuring agricultural organizations.

“Milan No-Till Field Day has been a staple of the agricultural world for decades, and we are excited to host it once again in 2026,” says Jason Williams, interim director of the AgResearch and Education Center at Milan. “This year, we also want to highlight Tennessee’s farming history by hosting an antique tractor show and traditional skills sessions such as blacksmithing, cotton ginning and more. All activities are free, so whether you’re a producer or simply interested in learning more about agriculture, this event is for you.”

Instead of tents on the main lawn, all agricultural presentations and field tours will begin in the sheds near the lake. Traditional skills sessions and the antique tractor show will be located next to the West Tennessee Agricultural Museum, with parking once again available in the field behind the building.

Milan No-Till Field Day began in 1981 to teach producers about the benefits of no-till farming over traditional tillage. Today, the event is held every other year and continues to attract thousands of people from across the nation interested in improving soil conservation and agricultural production. Certified Crop Adviser and other pesticide recertification points will be available for attendees.

The AgResearch and Education Center at Milan is located at 3 Ledbetter Gate Road in Milan, Tennessee. Sponsorships and exhibitor spots are currently being offered. Contact LesLee Smelser at 731-686-7362 for more information.
