Northeast Tennessee Beef Expo Scheduled for October 12

Beef Producers Invited to Learn from UT Extension and UT AgResearch Experts

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. – The annual Northeast Tennessee Beef Expo presented by the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture is scheduled for October 12, 2023. Hosted at the Northeast Tennessee AgResearch and Education Center, the expo features experts from UT Extension, UT AgResearch and other industry partners who will provide beef producers with information on the latest research and practices in beef production.

This year’s expo is for one day only and includes a tradeshow with more than 50 vendors. Nationally known agriculture advocate Stephanie Nash will be the guest speaker. Nash is the first agriculture ambassador for Turning Point USA. She advocates for family farmers and ranchers and educates Americans on sustaining our food supply.

Topics of interest to beef producers during the expo programs include:

  • Alternative Fertilizers
  • Economic Importance of Estimated Progeny Differences (EPDs) for Commercial Producers
  • Forage Plot Tours and Updates
  • How to Maintain a 12-month Calving Interval from the Cow and Bull Perspective
  • Crossbreeding 101
  • Agriculture Advocacy—No Farms, No Food
  • Live Grading of Cattle and Calves

Pre-registration for the event is required, and the deadline to register is October 9.  Producers can register online at the tiny URL tiny.utk.edu/NETBE or at their local Extension Office.

Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m. EDT. Programs will begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude around 2:30 p.m. The registration cost is $25 per person and includes lunch. 4-H and FFA members receive a discount.
