Value-Added Agriculture Marketing Workshops Scheduled for Fall

Learn More About Effective Marketing Strategies

COLUMBIA, Tenn. – Direct farm marketers and value-added agriculture entrepreneurs interested in learning more about developing effective marketing strategies are invited to participate in a new value-added marketing workshop planned for this fall.

Six “Developing Your Value-Added Marketing Strategy” workshops will be held across North Carolina, Tennessee and Kentucky in October. The workshops will take place in North Carolina and Tennessee between October 16 and 19, and in Kentucky on October 24 and 25.

Discussions about market drivers, identifying and understanding your target audience and developing your brand will be led by Sarah Cornelisse, senior Extension associate with Pennsylvania State University. Attendees will be invited to participate in a sensory analysis activity using cheese products as an example to help drive home important marketing concepts.

“The purpose of these workshops is to equip value-added entrepreneurs with the skills needed to analyze, develop and grow their farm enterprises. While the program especially targets value-added dairy producers, all interested producers and technical assistance providers are welcome to participate,“ according to Alaina Boyd, Extension assistant with the University of Tennessee Center for Profitable Agriculture and workshop coordinator.
